The Head Gasket Set Comprises of :-
Rocker Cover Gasket
Cam Shaft Seals
Rocker Cover Seals
Valve Stem Seals
Manifold gaskets (inlet and exhaust).
The head gasket is compressed between the engine block and the cylinder head. The head gasket seals in the internal combustion process and also keeps coolant and oil from mixing together as the two fluids travel from the engine block to the cylinder head. Its purpose is to seal the cylinders to ensure maximum compression and avoid leakage of coolant or engine oil into the cylinders; as such, it is the most critical sealing application in any engine, and, as part of the combustion chamber, it shares the same strength requirements as other combustion chamber components.
A rocker gasket helps seal the joint between the rocker cover and the rest of the engine. Failure of this gasket can cause oil to leak from the engine.
The camshaft seal is a round oil seal located in the cylinder head. It is responsible for sealing the end of the engine’s camshaft or camshafts between the top of the cylinder head and the valve cover gasket. Camshaft seals are usually made of durable rubber materials that allow them to have a long service life.
A valve cover gasket seals the valve cover to the top portion of the engine cylinder head. The gasket prevents motor oil from leaking out as it travels around the camshafts, rockers and valves.
The intake manifold gaskets are responsible for sealing the intake manifold against the cylinder head.
The exhaust manifold gasket is a like a big valve. It connects to all of the cylinders in the engine, where it collects and funnels the exhaust gases into the exhaust system itself.
